Tiare can also integrate mindful movements of yoga into her hula programs. Like hula, yoga postures symbolize elements of nature, such as the lotus flower, trees, and animals. While hula is an ancient Hawaiian oral tradition of storytelling, yoga is more than 3,000 year old practice from India, steeped in the wisdom of combining the breath, mind and body, for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being.
Both Hawaiiana and Indian cultural practices foster love, peace, kindness, gratitude, respect, and living in harmony with all of nature. Students are given the tools that they need to be mindful of their thoughts, emotions, and actions; providing them with strategies for adaptability, self-esteem, self-regulation, and resilience necessary for surviving the fast-paced world in which we live.
Tiare's objective is to instill passion for learning and personal growth, while planting seeds that will reap a bountiful harvest of healthier people and a healthier world.
